Today we all headed out for an excursion, a cruise on the Rio Bebedero in Palo Verde National Park. We had an hour plus drive from the resort to the boat dock. This stretch of river has brackish water so much of the wildlife is as we have seen on other cruises.
But it is new for everyone else.
We saw:
Jesus Christ Basilisk
(Brown Iguana)
Howler Monkeys
Tropical Cormorants
Juvenile Little Blue Heron (they are white when juveniles)
Lots of American Crocodiles

Southern Lapwings
Some local goats came down to the river to drink. Hope they don't end up as a crocodile's lunch.
White Faced Capuchin Monkeys, also coming down to the water to drink.
We had lunch at the dock and then headed to the Llanos Del Cortes Waterfall...
where some of us took a dip (or at least a wade).
We did a short drive through Liberia, the capital of Guanacaste,…
before heading off to a souvenir shop for a bit of shopping.
We were back mid-afternoon with time for rest, relaxation and dinner,
