March 6 – Transfer to Papagayo and the Secrets Resort

We had a late morning transfer arranged so Mary took a bit of time in the morning to take some photos of the hotel ground and beach.  We didn’t really get to spend any time here as we were on tours and working most of the time.  But the grounds and waterfront are lovely.

The drive took us well into the state of Guanacaste.  It is very dry here with a lot of pastureland.  The guide said that Guanacaste is the Texas of Costa Rica.  We arrived at Secrets, our oceanside resort, in time for lunch.  We weren’t able to check in until 3:00 so we hung around the pool and bar.  The grounds are lovely and the views of the bay great.

All the brothers and wives arrived before dinnertime.  After they had settled in we all headed to one of the hotel restaurants for dinner.  It was good to see everyone.
